It seems like no one has any shot, in addition to Cabelas completely dropping shot from inventory.

Cheaper than I can load them.

The big problem with shotgun shells which are "cheaper than I can load them" is that all of a sudden there is a dearth of lead shot in the stores, such that ...

I remember when you bought the "wee jeff" 16. SKB had it for sale at an unusually low price ("too good to be true?) and there was speculation that it was a bogus sale because he wouldn ...

You ARE The Man.
And you did it the right way: purple hulls, side-by-side, loyal dog, and climbing mountains to get there.

Congratulations!

Well done!

You were quite correct when you noted upthread, using that 7'9" (5 weight?) cane rod is the equivalent of using the 100 y/o short-chambered 16 ga sxs for upland. If it's a Garrison ...

Cabelas Scarborough had a bunch of the Zastava 16 ga sxs. Most PG, some English.

I passed, in part because I have enough 16 ga sxs right now and in part because the guns on the rack looked clunky. ...

The buttplate might be horn, too. Germans were/are fond of using horn for trigger guards and buttplates. The problem is, as your trigger guard shows, it is relatively fragile and subject to breakage ...

This is one of the evergreen topics here. Right up there with the right size of shot to use for pheasants.

Short version: you can do it, but that doesn't mean you should.

You are guaranteed ...

The 16 ga Model 12 might be the sleeper of this auction cycle. It's a 1952 gun, so likely no 2 9/16 chamber issues, too.

If you're comfortable running them through a short chamber, I won't stand in your way. the 2 1/2-1-6 load is pretty much a standard 16 light game load. That doesn't give much certainty about the rec ...

A couple years ago, one of the members here sold me a bunch of 16 ga wads. Murphy showed up and, as things usually go when he does, the label on the packaging managed to make itself disappear. So I' ...
