Savage16,
Yes 18.0 grains American Select.
There is no 'common sense' reason why the load didn't like Winchester 209's. Sometimes it just works out that way. It is one of the things that you fin ... |

Here are some loads I had tested back when the DR16 was a new wad.
The first load is a nice 3/4 oz. load. The rest I was trying to get as hot as possible and then back them off a little. The last l ... |

Citori16,
As far as I can see the 3/4 oz. load isn't a good warm weather load. The 24 FPS SD and 65 FPS ES are not good. These are limits that I got from Tom Armbrust years ago, as follows - SD 14 ... |

I have read, that the current Remington 16 gauge hull is now the Federal 16 gauge, 2 3/4" hull, paper base hull, that has a black plastic tube instead of purple.
Has anybody reloaded any of th ... |

silverbowff,
I did have Tom Armbrust test the 7/8 oz. load using N320, but it was over MAP. I backed it off two grains and I am using it. I do not know the exact velocity or chamber pressure. I am ... |

I had Tronspace put an adjustable comb on my 16 gauge Citori. What I didn't know is that additional drop, which I needed, wasn't part of the deal. He did a very nice job, but I wish I had known. I nev ... |

Yeah, I would be really interested to see what the pressures and velocities are with Titewad.
I am going to play with N320 and 7/8 oz. loads when cold soaked. I don't care about the pressures as To ... |

Citori16,
That is a light load, especially in a Fiocchi hull.
In a 12 gauge Fiocchi hull a 7/8 oz. 12 gauge load is at 8,100 PSI with 17.7 grains of Titewad. Probably gonna put the 16 gauge 3/4 ... |

Temps are huge when it comes to chemical reactions. I read somewhere about how each 10 degrees slows the chemical reaction some X amount and it isn't insignificant. So dropping the temperature from s ... |

Wads don't create problems when it gets cold. Think about steel shot wads and how stiff they are and the temps that the loads are used in. Yesterday the temp was 11 degrees and I was using R16's (you ... |

What was the load?
Powder is only good at low temps when it is used in it's wheel house. As an example, a 16 ga. 3/4 oz. load at 1,150 FPS probably isn't going to get it done in the cold weather.

There should be a bushing in the closer, if that bushing is missing the linkage will bind. If you watch the master link in the video, you can see the slop on the closer end.
The bushing is not part ... |

Some pics would help. There isn't much adjustment on the linkage. The collet closer should not be able to drop down too far unless something is broken, bent or assembled incorrectly. |
