You might consider buying an old gun for the barrel. The local shop here has one in 16 ga with a Poly Choke for $215. You could find a gun in not so good shape, use the barrel to get grandpa's gun go ... |

If the gun has 'problems' with plastic ammo, it may have a dirty or rough chamber. I'd try cleaning it thoroughly. Another possibility is a worn extractor, I had to replace one a few years b ... |
