They were built with whatever rib the customer ordered. This particular gun has a raised rib, with an under rib. But, you could get a swamped rib, with or without an under rib.

I don’t remember. In the course of a year I probably discuss Darne guns with 50-100 people.

Whatever works.

The sad thing is these were never really cheap guns, but, the lower grades that have been used pretty hard (most of them) aren’t worth throwing a bunch of gunsmith money at.

Not often thought of as light, but, this Nitro Special is just over 6lbs, by 2 ounces, with 26” tubes choked Cyl and Mod, 2 3/4” chambers and built in 1938.

The Sweet barrels go right on a Standard gun, usually. I have heard a few people say they had to have them fitted, but, that is the exception, and not the rule.
My Standard has a backup Sweet barrel ...
