Been shooting a 16 ga Repro since 1994. Seldom use the 20 ga bbls, which are 28-inch QI/QII. Straight grip, splinter, single trigger. The 16 ga is a delight to carry and very effective on wild prairie ... |

Never tried the B&P's, but got a couple flats of Gamebore back in the 90's. They were made in the UK and marked #5, but weighed/counted out to be #5.5. They were so effective on wild pheasants tha ... |

Back in the 1960's the Imperial hunting loads had extra high brass. I have a box of paper 16 ga Imperials from that era in number 4 shot. I remember buying a fair amount of Imperial ammo in the early ... |

I've loaded lots of the BP sporting 16. They have loaded nicely in all hulls except remington, where they do bulge sometimes. Seems to me I read in BPI literature that it is not necessary to apply pre ... |

I've used the polywad inserts in 16 gauge and they worked well. Pattern testing showed that they nicely opened my IC/MOD to make 12-15 yard shots possible in popple thickets. I roll crimp mine to make ... |

I've purchased from BPI for many years--good service, no problems. Ive loaded the Trap Commander 16 wad in Fiocchi hulls in the past year without bulging the hulls. BPI has taken an interest in the 16 ... |

I think you are on the right track. I've used a 16 choked IC/mod since '94 on MN/SD wild pheasants. If you do indeed "let them get out there" the somewhat tighter choking you are contemplati ... |

How about just using spreader loads? I have a O-frame, 28", 16 that is bored IC/MOD (Parker Repro). With spreaders, my pheasant gun becomes a fast handling open-choked grouse/woodcock gun. |
