IMHO I would not shoot 2 3/4 shells in a 2 1/2 chambered gun (especially a light weight vintage Fox, Parker, Smith, etc) unless the gun had been checked by a very competent smith.

I shoot a ton of lp 2 3/4, 20ga stuff out of my modern guns. This past weekend I shot the same ammo out of a old Parker damascus gun(very nice, very very expensive example of one of thier show guns) ...
