chilly, checked my 31's and the buttplates are the same on the 12 and the 16. The dims are 5" heal to toe, 1.680" wide, .5" from top to top screw hole and 3.125" between screw hole ...

chilly, I will check tonight. I have one of each and the buttplates are original on them. The pattern on them is the same but the size might be slightly different.

I have two 31's, a 16 made in March 1949 and a 12 made in December 1944. They both have steel receivers and I love'm. The 16 has a smaller frame so weights a bit less than the 12 but I have no problem ...

Since I am a '31' fan, that is great info to know. I have a 12, 16 and 20.
Do you know if they ever did a .410 in the '31' ? I've never seen any record of it.
