The choke was backbored an inch or two behind the choke. The difference in patterns was definitely more than 5%, more like 10% if not more. I’ll look for some photos, think I might have some.

I do as Wirehair, push the carrier down with the shell and close the action. Slide the second shell into the magazine and turn the gun right side up.

Nice success story, great to have the versatility with that gun.

That sounds like a solid plan. I'd ask for about .010", take a couple .000" under rather than over. Shoot it and pattern it, then adjust from there if needed.

Its legacy might be in prompting Claybuster to produce their 7/8oz wad, if it were to lead to an ammunition maker producing factory shells with that shot charge it'd be.....something altogether indeed ...
