As gjw said, Q1 marking in ddr guns means "highest quality" for export.
But too bad, it is mostly just for marketing.
I havenīt ever seen any ddr shotguns without Q1. And I have seen quite ...

Too bad woods are not same grade as engravings, they are very basic walnut.

6.5x55 is quite rare caliber in older drillings.
And combination 6.5x55/16/16 is almost impossible to find.
Of course this concerns used guns, sure you can order what ever you want if you have enoug ...

I have used MM with 1oz tungsten loads.
For extra protection (non steel barrels on my drilling) and to fill up space (1oz tungsten is not very bulky) I have used 28ga wad inside MM.
Imo, works great ...

Cheddite hull, win209 primer, 1,6grams Vihtavuori N350 powder, MM wad splitted and whole 28g wad inside MM.
28 grams od 2,25mm tungs ...

As a rule, German guns have the month and year of their proofing stamped on the flats.

Not allways. I think it was 1929 when this came mandatory.
Some manufacturers used it before -29, but after ...

Correct, Simson became Merkel later. Same line.
Anyway, overall quality decreased year after year since early 70īs.
Personally, I wouldnīt buy basic DDR shotgun made after mid 70īs.

My friend (who knows "something" about these guns, I trust him in this case) think itīs model VIII and manufactured about 1920-1922.
