I own a 1923 Ithaca SxS 16ga flues field model that has the bird dog scene on both sides of the receiver. The barrels are nitro proof steel. At 6lbs 7oz it's my PA grouse gun.

Of course any 870 is inferior to the M37 and M12, because the trigger group has a plastic or aluminum housing. Rolling Eyes.

Why would anyone with common sense trade a 16 Gauge for a 28?

I agree!!! or trade for a 12ga,20ga,28 or a 410. I'll stick with my 16ga thanks.

In 97% condition I would say that's a good fair price. I bought a 16ga Model 31 from WWW.JAQUAS.COM. 1949 gun with poly-choke 95% for $245.00.
They are one fine shooting shotgun I use mine for grouse ...

I own a 1949 Model 31 & it has never given me any problems. I agree with Ted get it to a gunsmith.

It's legal in MI to shoot it on the ground. So the choice it yours to make since it's legal in your state. For me I would do it for a cripple,other wise I'll take my shots when he is on the wing

I never had a problem switching between my AyA SxS double trigger & my Emilio Rizzini O/U single trigger. Most shooters switch between single & double triggers without any thought. IMO.
