Thanks Researcher! I found a few more examples since I posted this, and figured out that it is factory engraving. Can you tell me about what a restored 16 gauge gun would be worth?

Hi guys. I found an old 37 for sale in a local store for $200. The serial number puts it at 1946. It has a 26" mod barrel. No rib. It's pretty rough in that the finish is coming off the wood ...

Thanks guys. Patriot, I thought long and hard about that Sauer, but I just couldn't pull the trigger, so to speak. I hope you find it a good home. Someone with some skill will love on it.

I want to thank all of you who have helped me in the last few weeks. I've looked at many guns, and decided on this Simpson. It's on the way next week. I can't wait. Very Happy

I found a nice looking 1960's Simson. Some of you guys have said the Simson is a good gun. I'm just wondering if that sentiment is just toward the Pre-war models, or in general?

I don't have any pics, But it looked nice. Case colors were pretty good, no flaws, wood was very nice. So' I'm OK with a poor mans Merkel as I'll probably never afford a real Merkel. So is quality ...
