I learned to shoot trap with a beretta sxs 16ga model 410....and that hurt. But it was fun being the only nut on the line with a sxs and when I ran a 25 for the first time I got a lot of strange look ... |

I use a 16ga citori lightning feather every time I shoot SC....which is about 1 or 2 times a year. Love it. I have a nice set of trulock extended chokes just for that.
Best score I got it it was 8 ... |

ditto on the gun mentioned above - fantastic gun. But I also found that, with a nice set of extended chokes, it made a great sporting clays gun too. It will leave you sore but you can get used to it! |

I used to shoot trap with my 16ga citori lightning feather but since I do it regularly, I swithched to a heavier-duty 12 for that.
However, I have never shot a round of sporting clays with anything ... |

There is no real disadvantage to shooting a 16 in sporting clays. I use a 16ga citori lightning feather on sporting clays and just like everyone else here - srores comparable to the 12 ga shooters.
