This type of dent remover was sold by Jantz Gunsmithing going back at least in the 1960's . I purchased one in 12Ga. around that time and succesfully removed small dents from a few shotguns. The tool is expanded enough so it can be inserted in the barrel using a wood dowel from the chamber end and wedged under the dent. I used a light hammer to tap around the outside of the dent using pressure on the remover untill it slips past the dent. The tool is expanded a little more and the process repeated untill the dent is gone.It sure beats turning a series of tapered brass plugs to raise small dents as I had to do for a couple of 16Ga. shotguns. |

I wish that would work for my car. Ugh...
Anyway, it looks like a good tool to have in the shop.
