I don't mean to be a pain....I just can't seem to find the post I posted a while back...maybe I did something wrong in posting? so here we go again.
Hey folks. Just purchased a "RENO" 16ga 28" box lock in really nice shape. I can't seem to find any info. on this little gun. Made in Spain, case color, nice amount of engraving, looks like a shooter not a collector? pistol grip, $500.00 just wanted to know if I got a Christmas present or Bah-Humbug! My father bought a 12 gauge Reno in 1966 for $95. It's still in awesome shape and in my opinion is a very nice , well made gun. From what I've gathered they were imported by York cutlery. Does yours have "mod 314" on the end of the trigger guard? I have only ever seen one other one ever on gunbroker in 20 gauge. Of course , I was low on funds at the time. If you ever consider parting with it , I would love to purchase it from you. I love my dads , even if it is a little heavy... |

IT DOES! I was wondering why that # was different from the serial # THANKS! BTW It shoots WONDERFUL! So far I am pleased with the purchase....I will try to remember to let you know if I consider selling it...but not yet. I am really enjoying it. This is a 16ga and built in a true 16ga frame...comes up right where it should, 28" IMP.CYL. / EXTRA FULL with a swamped rib: Good for me as I shoot Clays and the second one is usually a ways off by time I get to it. 14 1/8" LOP, 1 3/8" comb, 2 and almost 1/2" @ heel. and I shoot it better than anything I have owned before...maybe just a good day? or just dumb luck, Either way THANKFUL! |

My dads is exactly as you described yours. Nicely done moderate engraving , with nice case coloring. I believe his is choked mod and full. 30" barrels. The stock seems narrow to me but it works. His also points and shoots like a dream. My dad always said he could kick himself in the ass for not buying one of each gauge.....for $95 each.... Enjoy yours , they are a hidden treasure.... Like I said , if you ever decide to part with it , I'm only and hour away....lol.... |

Here's where you find the info. Look for the maker's initials on the watertable or barrel flats. Date code will be a letter and a number; i.e. Q.1=1972 year of proof.

I'm going to take a guess as I have seen Renos before. Maybe BOZ is on the flats which would be made by Bost. |

Pastor Ray, Good to see you! I bought your Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge. All my friends want to buy it and they absolutely rave about the custom wood case you made for it. Sounds like you got another great gun. Good luck and Good shooting. RB |

Quote PastorRay;
"650 Kg/cm2 pressure;"
Are you sure it's not 850? 650 seems low for a gun made in 72. I don't know if I've seen a 650. |
