Was loading up a case of target shells today that a NICE member gave me . Was doing a little contemplating as this was moving along ... Wouldn't it be nice if the cases had come from 7/8/dr target loads that were factory . Fed would probably only have to change the wads and shot weight and not have to change anything else . The conundrum is that THEY say they don't sell , so they don't make them . It is impossible to buy them if THEY don't MAKE them ! Might even make Nick a nickle or 2 if they used the wad !? What say you all ?... I would like FEDS even more if the fact. loads were 7/8 target loads as opposed to what they have avail . Rolling Eyes

Any expansion of 16ga ammo offerings is a good thing. And you're right, there aren't any 7/8oz 2.75" ammo offerings available that I know of. That said, the average 16ga shooter probably wouldn't buy them unless they were cheaper and/or had softer recoil.

Here is the answer, there aren't enough 16 Gauge shooters to warrant Federal making 7/8 oz. loads, especially for hunting, which is about all that is really done with the 16 Gauge.

If I owned Federal I wouldn't make them either.

Mike,

I have a number of 67mm(2 5/8") Fiocchi 16 Gauge hulls and I have reloaded them for my old M12 and with 7/8 or 1 oz loads they run through my 1100 just fine also.

You just might have a point.

Trouble is, more is better, bigger is better so.......it probably isn't going to happen.

The RST with 1 oz of Nice Shot @1225fps- I think the bird wouldn't know that the shotshell was 1/4" shorter than standard Smile
