Having nothing to do yesterday I ran a 16 gauge brass hull partially into my MEC final crimp die to close the mouth to .670. Then, using a 1/8" thick piece of scrap leather as a cushioned base, a plastic mallet and the brass hull I popped out 100 discs from a .016" clear plastic supermarket takeout box.

I am going to pick up a 5/8" hollow punch and see how that works. The plastic discs will be about .015" smaller in diameter than the BPI but it should not make any difference. Thinking about using 3 plastic discs (.048) in place of the .042 BPI card.
More later. JF

Plastic milk cartons can be used as OSCs. What led you to begin using plastic for OSCs?

I use the paper 1/2 gal milk cartons for 16ga shell boxes- they hold precisely 25 per layer, 3 layers- so a carton + a box gets you through a 100 shot clays course. I've found the plastic milk jugs get very brittle with age.

Why did I go to clear plastic? I noted that the 20 gauge reloads that I empty out of my hunting jacket all ended up in one ammo can, or two, and I never really know what size shot is in them.

So, I started making printed labels to stick on the cardboard overshot cards from BPI and that helped solve some of the problems.

Then I started roll crimping 16 gauge reloads and used the printed labels. One day I got a hair in my aXX that clear plastic osc would be really sexy so I went down that path. I like the clear plastic osc a lot. You can look at the shot and see exactly what is in the reload and segregate them by visual certainty.

The main reason for clear plastic osc is . . . no one else was doing it!!!

How do you carry the milk carton was you move from station to station on the clays course? Don't they get unwieldy? JF
