I was perusing the hunting photos on NorthWindEnterprises' web pages (they guide & sell Grouse Habitat Topo maps among other things) and noticed a familiar sight; two of the hunters in the picture were wearing 16ga caps.

Anyone recognize themselves or a friend?

Maybe it's one of those fake dogs like they use in department stores for decoration? 'Wink'

I recognize them. The guy on the right is Curly Howard, the guy in the middle is Moe Howard, and the guy on the left is Larry Fine.

And what kind of gun does the guy in the middle have in his right hand-I'm thinking a 16g. Rem Model 11? Maybe the pointer is standing still and has that look on it's face because it's back foot is in a bear trap? Or the 'dog' may be one of those pop-up backing trainer thingys?
(No fun abusing pointer guys if there aren't any out there Wink)

Actually, the dog looks more like a Braque something more than a pointer.

Rem 16

I hope so Rolling Eyes ! (I googled to make sure, actually). French is not really my strong point either.

NorthWindEnterprises that owns the web site has a pretty neat product; they take topo maps of timber company property, research where clear cuts have taken place and when, check for the appropriate type of timber and mark those places most likely to contain grouse.

They just came out with three books for Maine. I bought one but haven't had a chance to travel to any of the areas marked yet (3500 acres) but I'm looking forward to it.

re the hat'd folks; I also would think they're members....or maybe they just liked the hats (I do!). (shipping's kinda high though)

Anyone know if the 16ga hats fit guys with a fat mellon?
My hat size is about 7 3/4, and I rarely buy a hat without trying it on.

"single barrel gun"? Sorry, can't help. I've tried to shoot 'em, but there's a bunch of clankin' stuff going on a few inches from my face. Just ain't right.
