Although I have a 16 gauge roll crimper I do not have a 16 gauge repriming tool. Yet.

In the meantime, I use the 12 gauge nutcracker repriming tool with the 12 gauge hull tube with a 16 gauge hull inserted in it. The 12 gauge tool fits the repriming job nicely. Just an idea being passed on. JF

All single stage or progressive shot shell reloaders I know of have built in deprime/reprime stations. Most of us reload on these machines. I've been loading on progressive machines for so long, I've almost forgot I once did it with a set of Lee Loader hand tools.

This was back before the world dragged me kicking and screaming into the 20th Century. Now it is the 21st Century. Who knew I'd still be here--still kicking and screaming too. Laughing

Whoops!!! I left out the important part of the repriming story. I'm using a vintage hand crank roll crimper tool for my 16 gauge hulls and a decapper that works with a plastic mallet. It's the repriming tool that has not arrived on my doorstep.

Any one that has an extra nut cracker type 16 priming tool that I can own is invited to become my newest best friend. JF

A dear friend of mine passed away last year & here are some of his solutions to the repriming activity. I think the black tongs with the Rem hull may be the type you have. Prior to "store-bought" my friend manufactured a reprimer from a fence hinge & misc scraps. The is set-up for metallic cases, but can be adjusted to accomodate different hulls by loosening the nut and sliding the "shellholder" open to accept a larger rim. It's amazing what some people will do just to shoot a gun Smile Smile

That's what I would call "a sonuvagun" invention and a real achievement by your Bud. I can see with a little ingenuity it is applicable to all kinds of uses in the gun world. JF

Repriming on the old Lee Loader was done with a steel, later plastic, rod about 1/2" in diameter that was bored out a short distance on one end. To reprime, you put the primer standing up on a table top or board, placed the hull over the primer, centered the priming rod inside the hull and tapped it with a hammer until the primer was seated. In lieu of purchasing a Lee Loader, you could do the same thing with a piece of PVC pipe of suitable diameter. The hole or recess in the end is necessary to clear any primer that sticks above the base wad.
