Just wondered if anyone has handled or shot one of the CZ ringnecks in 16ga I have been looking for a nice SXS in 16ga and ran across these on gunbroker. I don't have any info other than they are made in Turkey. |

The CZs are a nice little double but you have to like fairly straight stocks. The stock ringneck in 16 is 6.6lbs, 14.5" lop, with stock drops of 1.5"/2.25". This is fine for some but too straight for me. I have only handled the ringneck but never shot one. I do however have one of Mark DeHaan's SGr CS SxSs which is very close to the ringneck; slightly heaver but with a custom fit stock (made in the same Turkish factory as the Huglu).
If the normal ringneck stock dimensions will fit you then the ringneck is worth a try. Personally I like they way the handle for me. They are well balanced and fairly quick off the hip. I would however, suggest you get one in your hands before you buy. Shotguns are all about the fit, and if it doesn't fit you then it really doesn't matter how nice the gun is. |

I personally own a CZ Ringneck 16. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. Very fast pointing and has deadly patterns. I've shot trap and quail with it. Each time it outperformed my shooting partners. It's a beautiful firearm that will bring out the best in your shooting. I was a little nervous about a Turkish gun but I've had no problems with it whatsoever. I would highly recommend it. |

I have Bob Whites in 16. & 20. I have probably put 350 rounds through the 20 and 150 thru the 16, so far. Not a definitive test of reliability, but I can't think of any mechanical issues I have had with either. My 16 weighs right at 7 lbs. on a postal scale, so it is not as light as I expected. On the other hand, balance can go a long way in minimizing weight IMHO, so it doesn't feel that heavy until i pick-up the 20. There are two things I would change on the 16: the chokes do not pattern as tight as the IC/mod stamps and the wood is not as well figured as that on the 20. It has just a hint of tiger strip in the butt that might have been brought out more had the stain been as dark as the stain on the 20. The straight grip is not a problem for me as that is my preference. |

I own a CZ Bobwhite in 16 ga. I tried to sell it, but couldn't. Beautiful shotgun; but everyone interested was turned off by the fact it is a 16 ga. I decidied to keep it and shoot it some more. I read an article on shooting straight grip side x sides and took this new knowledge to the range. My Bobwhite is no longer for sale and I hope to keep it for years to come. I have shot trap, skeet, 5-stand, and rabbit hunted with it. Great gun for the money. (Wish shells were cheaper though!) |

I think we have some confusion here. I own two CZ Ringneck models although neither is a 16. Both have 28 inch barrels, full profile stocks w/ semi pistol grips and beaver tail forends. The Ringnecks also have single selective triggers. My two are very well made for the money I spent on them IMO. FYI, the 16 ga Ringneck models I've hefted seem to weigh in at nearly 7.5 pounds. I've hefted the 12 ga Ringneck models right alongside. Not much difference in feel. The 20 ga models are substantially lighter by comparison and are said to weigh 6 lbs, 4 oz or so. So I think the 7.5 lb weight is just about right.
I think the lighter weight 16 ga, CZ model being referred to is the Bobwhite. It has a slimmer, straight grip stock and a splinter type for end, 26 inch barrels, and two triggers. The few I've actually handled seem to weigh nearer to 7 pounds though. They feel pretty close to the same weight as my 1960s era, 16g a, 28 inch Aya Matador which tips the scales at 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
IMO, neither 16 ga CZ model is too heavy for a decent all round hunting and target gun. However, I'd like to see CZ offer the lighter weight Bobwhite model w/ a single selective trigger. Just a personal preference. No intention to start another war here over which configuration is better. Shoot what you like. I don't care. |

Don't want to add to the confusion but I just took the numbers directly off the website as it's been a while (>6mo.) since I handled one. The link is here:
http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/ringneck-201a-single-case-hardened/
Just select the "201A SINGLE (Case Hardened) 16-28" from the pull down menu and check the published stats.
All the technical mumbo-jumbo aside; they are really a pretty nice little double if the fit is right for you. |

I've got a Ring neck in the 12 Gauge version and I've never had any issues with it. Now, I'm thinking of buying a 16 gauge version too. |

Don't be surprised if the 16 weighs as much as the 12. |

I own a 16ga. DeHaan S2 SXS; made by Huglu and much like the CZ Ringneck; only with a nicely engraved silver toned receiver. It is my "GO TO"pheasant gun. LIke the CZ, it has a a true to gauge receiver. However, also like the CZ, Huglu used 12ga. barrel stock for the 16ga. barrels. My only complaint about the gun and thus, the somewhat heavy for gauge result. |
