I just joined and wanted to drop a line and introduce myself. I've always loved the 16 ga. When I turned 13 I was given a Belgian made Browning Sweet Sixteen for Christmas by my grandfater. (My cousin got the next seqential serial number.) I hunted with that gun for several years. Now it is in the gun vault. As I grew I 'graduated' to my 870 12 ga. Wingmaster. It is a workhorse and served me well as a duck hunter, duck guide, and anything else I asked her to do; still does. But, it never had the magic of my 16.
Now, I own a AyA-Sauer 16 SxS. What a sweet thing! I can't wait for bird season this year.
Great site by the way.

Welcome aboard Lawrence U! Pull up your chair and enjoy the banter, but hang on to your wallet because these guys will tempt you with the magic of the 16. |

Lawrence, welcome to the board. Don't be afraid to state your opinion, I'm sure there will be somebody ready to disagree with you. mod11rem |

Thanks for all the welcomes.
I'm enjoying just watching the interaction right now. I'll jump in pretty soon. Right now my hands are full with nine newborn Boykin pups. Sleepless squealy nights ahead. . . |

Hey Lawrence U from Mobile AL - welcome to the group. You are NOT one of those in the ROLL TIDE crowd are you ? I guess if you are, WAR EAGLE right at you, and thank goodness you at least have the sense to have a 16 gauge and Boykins.... |

Shoot no! I'm not a Tide fan, though I have a great deal of respect for Coach Bryant. I grew up in Arkansas so for me it is Wooooooooooo PIG SOOOIE! That's also why I rarely hunt waterfowl since moving here. I've hunted in heaven and just about anything else makes me sad.
If I have to choose between the Alabama teams it is Auburn that I pull for. |
