I have a chance to purchase a 16 parker Trojan. Very good shape. No piting in bores. Blueing is about gone on barrels, no case color on reciever but the gun is very sound. Barrels appear to be full/full 28 or 30. I didn't measure. Fellow that shoots at the skeet range I go to brought it to shoot some skeet with it just to shoot. Wood is in very good shape.
I have an elsie I use for about everything but wouldn't mind have the Parker. 1000.00 smackeroonies is this good or not.

Decent buy on a Trojan. Make sure the stock dimensions fit you.

I'd be apprehensive if the screws are buggered-no telling what someone has done to the insides. That would be a fair price for a gun with clean screws however.
Be sure and check the chamber length (may be 2 and 9/16 and will cost $40-50/ chamber to lengthen) You'll also pay $40-50 per brl to open the choke (but may only need to open the right brl)
Let us know how it works out.

I will leave the chokes alone on this one and use it for ducks and geese. The elsie I use for everything. I wouldn't think of getting rid of it. I have a couple of 16 Mod 12's and 2 other sxs that I would get rid of first.
The Trojan is in fine shape, just my ass might not be after I bring it home and the Misses finds out what I spent.

Old16,

It's always easier to ask for forgiveness, than it is permission. Wink

Besides, a Parker is well worth the cold shoulder you may get for a few days.

Find Pat McManus's old article on gunrunning past your wife, then study, study, study if you can stop laughing long enough to learn anything.

Obviously,I suggest that you buy it;why else would I be called "Parker Trojan". Seriously,I paid $900 for mine about six years ago and put another $250 into it;I just shot a round of skeet with it and broke 24. Not bad for an old one-eyed fart like me.You'll like it's slim lines and great balance;a great quail gun.
