About 6.5 lbs and yes a pistol grip. I used it for birds until I went SxS a couple years ago. I still take it for a walk now and again when bird hunting but it mostly goes to the trap range and sporting clays range now.

I will have the grandest 4th of all as my son, SGT. Andrew C. Lock is expected to be home after an 18 month miserable tour of duty in Afghanistan.
He is not expected to be deployed again, but will train snipers here at home base. Please wish him well. He is a decorated war hero, but he would never tell you that. I will brag on him however. It is because of him and guys like him that we have the freedom to do what we do. (Even talk to strangers on the internet about fine 16 gauge shotguns.)

XVIgauge,
Congratulations on your son's safe return! You've a right to very proud. Your son (as well as the others serving over there) have my thanks and greatest respect.

Let's wish those remaining a safe and effective tour.

Hooah! To your son XVIguage. I'm a former Paratrooper myself. Glad to hear that he will be returning home safely!

As for the 4th. I hope everyone has a chance to enjoy time with family & friends. My plans for the weekend are full. A day at the range with my brother and one of our nephews (sister's kid), two days of camping & wheeling, followed up with a day/night at the rodeo (with fireworks). All events will include or be followed up with BBQ & frosty barley pops.

XVIgauge - Thank your son for all of us. I have had the great privilege to know a couple of folks cut from his cloth. One in my church was a "tunnel buster" in WWII. He was little, so he got to go in the tunnels after the enemy in the South Pacific. Another did a lot of point work on ambush patrol in Vietnam. They went, they did, and they don't talk much.

Men like your son are special. The 4th means all the more because we still have men like him around.
