Are the purple federal hulls good to reload and if so does anyone have a pet low pressure recipe to get me started? |

I load them almost exclusively. They have a paper basewad, so you have to watch for separation. Some people on here don't like them for that reason.
There are plenty of loads to be found for them by joining the 16 gauge low-pressure group. Send a private message to RWG if you're interested in joining.
There are several recipies in here: http://www.16ga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=444
I like the one with PB for a fast hunting load. |

Hey, welcome to the board, Mike. I have family in Lincoln (in fact my entire family is originally from the great state of Nebraska). Haven't been back in several years, which is several years too many. You're going to find this board filled with some of the nicest, easy going, helpful but also ornery group of 16 gauge nuts ever assembled.
I, too, advise you to follow Bigric's advice and join the Low Pressure Group. A wealth of information and more tested load recipes than you can try in a lifetime. You'll find plenty of loads for your Federal hulls. BTW, I tend to use the Federal hulls and Fiocchi hulls almost exclusively, and have had great luck with both. |
