I saw some Estate Cartridge High Velocity Hunting loads at a local store the other day - $7.50 per box for #6 shot @ 1.295 fps. They have a purple hull like Federal loads, so I assume they are made by Federal (didn't Federal buy Estate?)? Anyway, has anyone used these loads, and if so, did they perform well? I'm interested in using them for chukar hunting, and also to reload the hulls. Any feedback would be appreciated! |

yup,yup,yup........federal bought estate a few years ago.......they are loaded in the federal plant right here in anoka, minn.
if you like the federal field loads, these will perform the same.
load data should cross over as well, just cut away lengthwise one of each hull and you should find cases and case volume to be the same. |

I would go for the Remington game loads for half that price.Velocity is 1200fps for a 1 oz load-them birds won't know the difference |

Wow that's high-dollar. I can get those at Sportsman's for $3.99/box.
Pricing aside, the discussion on that load around here is that they are not recoil-friendly, if that's an issue for you. |

The ammo I was looking at aare the high velocity, high base shells, with 1 1/8 oz. of #6 shot. The 1 oz. loads are $3.99 a box. $7.50 for the shells I was looking at seems about right when compared to 12-gauge Estate ammo, which was slightly more expensive. |

I bought a case in 7 1/2 shot in the high velocity, but only shot a few while hunting. Didn't want to waste them shooting at clays. I had no complaints, can't really remember difference in recoil, but while hunting who notices it. If you need 1 1/8 oz of shot give them a try. Sorry I wasn't of much help. |
