F/S 1961 Beretta 409 16ga 28” Fixed chokes F/M. Solid lockup, shoots and handles very well. Uncut original stock- 14 ¼” LOP from front trigger to original Beretta Buttplate.
Double trigger with articulated front trigger- (very nice for gloved hand). Has extractors, not ejectors so you can save your 16ga hulls!
This gun has some scratches on the barrel and wear to the finish in places but is a terrific hunting gun. I’ve tried to show the gun “as is” in the photos. It’s been used, but not abused. Bores look perfect and there are no dents in the barrels. No signs of any rib separation and the barrels ring like a bell. My preference is a face to face sale- so you can see exactly for yourself. I’m also close to a gun club in the Minneapolis area so you can certainly shoot a round or two of clays to see how it works for you.
I think that these Beretta sxs guns are terrific guns- Ron Overberg has talked me into plenty of them... I can't keep em all and I've got two of these 409 Silver Hawks.
Price is $1500 plus shipping. PM with questions.

Looks like I have a deal on a second 16ga 409 that I had so this one is still available!
To answer one question posed a couple times- this gun has a raised solid rib, not the swamped rib which started on most of the guns in the late 1980's and newer.

Thanks for the interest and PM's on this gun. It is still available. I took it to a friend and he has equipment to measure the stock dimensions. This is what we came up with:
LOP to factory Beretta Buttplate- 14 1/16"
Drop at Comb- 1 7/16"
Drop at heel 2 3/16"
3/8" cast off
I measured trigger pulls and never seem to get the same exact reading on my digital scale so these are approximate
Front Trigger 5 # 9 oz
Rear Trigger 4# 12 oz
There is ZERO creep in either of these triggers as far as I can tell.
I was asked to provide photos of the RH side of the gun and these are below. As I mentioned earlier, I think that this gun has been carried a lot and shot very little. You see a lot of these Berettas that have had some wannabe gunsmith maul the screws on the sides (which are hand engraved on the heads). This gun has been spared that treatment.
I couldn't resist including a photobomb shot of one of my best friends in the world in one of the photos....

Nice Beretta Greg.
For those that have a Beretta with screws that have been messed with I have found a solution. This year I purchased a Beretta 410E with damaged screw heads and sent it to Rich Cole with a request to clean up the appearance. He replaced the two side screws with newly manufactured screws. The finish and the engraving looks perfectly original. It's not cheap but can be done.
Best,
Ron |

I looked at this gun in person yesterday and it's in excellent condition. Greg's photos are taken with the intent to show every possible wart, and I can tell you the gun looks better in person. The screws are all clean, and it is definitely a gun that was carried more than shot. I bought his tubed 409, and had I had the extra cash I would have bought both in a heartbeat. |
