Parker VHE 16, 30inch barrels, one-frame, double triggers, 6pounds-11ounces.
It had been recased a longtime ago - not a very good job. Wood has been refinished - mediocre job. Chambers lengthened to 2-3/4" - good job. Barrels have been reblued fair job. The minimum wall thickness at the end of the lengthened chambers is adequate -95/1000th. Serial # 202,883 I think - made in the early 1920s. Original chokes - 27/1000th and 27/1000th.
I shot it at skeet and fivestand last night. Shot 3 below my average at skeet and 8 below my average at fivestand.
The people that look at my all-original Parker DHE-16 and go "MMMMH" liked this gun cause it has lots of bright and shiney on it.
It probably doesn't sound like it but I really like the gun. I am going to have the chokes opened and let it be my shoot-all gun for awhile.
See my "Major Askins" post from a couple of weeks ago and compare it to this gun.

AmarilloMike, how is your DHE configured?
Don't tell me you have a straight stocked, 0 frame, 28" barreled, dream gun. |

Thanks Doc!
Dave not a straight stock - rounded pistol grip
O frame
28" steel barrels
Made in 1905
All orginal
no case colors
some small pitts on the action and the outside of the barrels
Weighs 6pounds - 3 ounces
Splinter forend
Skeleton Butt Plate
Choked 3/1000ths and 11/1000ths
It has lots of character but still very attractive.

Ah, sorry, Dave. I just couldn't resist. Still friends, I hope?

Fin, not a problem. A little ribbing never hurt. |

I really like my Parker 16s. Thanks for the attention.
Now RevDoc what is the history of the "Prince of Whales" Sterlingworth poke that Dave took at you? I have seen guns listed with "Prince of Whales" grips and yes I know it is Prince of Wales grip.

I tried to find the original insult, I think it was on the 'Sterlingworth Society' thread, but gave up. Some wise a** kanbraskan from near Wichita who goes by something like 'carp and bird cr*p' was less than gracious about my admission to being a recoil wimp after too many closed head injuries (explains alot ) and too much shooting. You know what they say about paybacks |

You've go ta winnerI hace a VHE 16 with (original) 26" barrels and love it but have to admit that I'd prefer longer barrels to smooth out that quick handling.

Thanks Jeff. I did shoot lowgun skeet with it and shorter barrels might have helped but it is very nice on five stand.
Thanks!
