I know there are a few forum/society members not to far from me here in Virginia. I meeting with Flues16 a month or so a ago on a sale and I mentioned an informal clays shoot to try to get a few people from here together in person might be a good outing.
Cavalier Sporting Clays or Old Forge come to mind right off the bat. Mid to late April? Should be warming up nicely by then and gives plenty of time to work out details.
If you are close by and are interested, please register in this thread.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Edit: Changed title to reflect date. |

Sounds like a good idea. I'm in Bedford County (between Roanoke and Lynchburg). Given where the two of us are, Montpelier sounds like about as close to half way as we might ask for. Would also be a new location for me.
Over the past 15 years I've shot at Old Forge 3 times & up at Quail Ridge in Lexington / Rockbridge County twice. Both were enjoyable and efficient operations.
Thanks for taking the initiative... I'm a definite maybe for such an event. |

A suggestion--- don't schedule the event for the weekend of 4/26-27, as that is the date for the Southern in Sanford, NC. Lots of VA shooters . |

Good point, maybe this could be considered a warm up event? |

Put me down as another definite maybe. Sounds like it might be fun.
Maybe I'll drag that BPS along for you to look at. |

We shoot vintage guns and I use my 16 sterley almost every Sunday morning on the five stand at Oceana trap and Skeet. If your into sxs the eastern panhandle shoot at Prospect Hall is a good one to go to. |

Hello,
Barry Martin aka BarkeyVA and I have met at old forge to shoot clays with our 16's and had a great time. I would be happy to do this again - April 19 is open.
Best,

I realize this thread is over a week old, but is this shoot scheduled for April 19th and is it open to other 16ga shooters in the Hampton Roads area? Thanks,

I plan to attend on April 19. Look forward to meeting some 16'ers finally. Anyone in the VA Bch area that would to like to ride up with me let me know.
simcgunner I too shoot my old 16 SxS at Oceana only on Monday mornings and normally shoot trap. What time do you shoot 5 stand on Sundays? |

I am assuming there will be several members at Old Forge on April 19. No one has suggested a time. However, I think any other 16 ga. shooter would be welcome to join the party. |

Looks like April 19th at Old Forge then. Late morning start for those that have some driving to get there? |

Jamie,
Hope to see you and several other 16 ga. shooters at Old Forge at 10:30 on April 19. Should be fun. |
