Is the MEC 16g Sizemaster OK for 2 1/2"???

Most of my 16g will be roll crimped 2 1/2" hulls but I want the capability for 2 3/4" star crimp also.

If the Sizemaster is OK will there be some "tweaking" necessary for the 2 3/4"?

Thanks

Yes, the Sizemaster is great for 2 1/2 ammo.

No tweaking necessary if you do not use the crimp starter and
final crimp stations.

Of course, I star crimp my 2 1/2 ammo.

If I star crimp the 2 1/2's what is necessary as far any tooling changes or adjustments.

Of course if I continue roll crimping, I will just yank them off the Sizemaster and take them to the drill press.

Your star crimps look good. I have just started roll crimping and find it fun and interesting.

The tooling needed is a few cents.
I think 6 cents, a penny and a nickel epoxied together
and under the hull for the crimp start and final crimp.

Hi the method Mike is talking about is called a 52 cent short kit. It's a quarter and a penny glued together and will slide into the crimp start and another in the final crimp stage..thus the 52c

You can also get a short kit from MEC

Good Luck!!!

OK. You guys have convinced me.

I ordered a Sizemaster from Midway. Will be here next week. Will then have an almost new Lee Load All II for disposal.

Why a quarter and penny? Does the penny side go up? Still not certain that I won't roll crimp. Just kinda find it fun.

Love it-my short shell kit is 2 cents for 2-5/8" and actually 3 cents for 2-1/2" loads. Shot a lot of 'em! Mike
