In that price range the O/U choices are pretty much limited to the Verona or the DeHaan.
In SxS there are the CZ, DeHaan, Rem Spartan, or any number of older American classics: NID, Nitro Special, Stevens 311, Fox Mod B, etc. The list goes on and on.
Or, Thad Scott has a couple of J PSauers and a couple Simsons in your price range.
Not quite sure if you're interested in plunging into the "pre-owned" gun market. It can be daunting.

If you reload you can check the gun shows for a Flues. I found one at a show a couple of years for ago $250 and had it chopped to 25". Makes a great Missouri brush gun for rabbit or one of the rare quail. Now for heading west into KS I picked up a use Citori 16ga last year for a $1000. It also works great for dove. You could also trade that 870 for a 37 and drop 1-2 pounds. |
