Just finished shooting Sporting Clays in the Cornhusker State Games with my 16ga Citori. Shot a 66 which is nothing to jump up and down about. Won't know the results for a while yet.
Last I shot a 28ga in the games and won a bronze, moved up to a bigger bore (only because a 16ga is about perfect for clays) |

It is fun using the 16 gauge, and 66 isn't a bad score at all especially using a Citori 16 which is really a hunting shotgun. Good job!!!
I shoot all non registered shoots with my 1100 16 and some registered pump gun side events, with my 870 16. It really is fun!!! |

I shot sporting clays today too with my 16 ga model 12. Shot an 80!
Not only was I loading purple shells, I was picking them up after too! |

I was in a pit stand without enough shells for the rotation. I paused between following pairs and true to get more shells out of my 16GA shell bag when a fellow from the group behind me offered shells to finish the station. "Great, thanks!" I replied. "Are they 16's?
The look on his face was priceless. Reno |

That was the look alright, what a hoot. My 16 gauge score on that 100 target course was twelfth out of 75 shooting a double triggered side by side with a European strap from low gun. Stares and whispers! I felt like Eugene.

Haha, never know!
"Be careful with that axe, Eugene" is actually the name of a Pink Floyd song.
I'll add that when I was young my dad would yell, "Daylight in the swamp!" when it was time to get up for hunting. It's an old lumberjack expression. |

Results were posted, bad news is, I was one clay short of a Bronze medal.
Good News is, it was my brother who beat me by one clay to win the bronze, and he did it with a 20ga.
Last year I beat him by one clay and won the bronze, both with our 28ga's
In two weeks they are hosting a small bore shoot. I think I am going to take my 24ga. Don't shoot it much, good chance to shoot a 100 with it. |

I am gonna drive right past Eagle, in about 3 weeks, on my way to pickup my GSP pup, in Lincoln. Then I am gonna go find out what the Sand Hills look like in late August. I only have four days to complete the mission.
If you see a bright red Chevy 4x4 with a topper and CT plates on it, wave, that will be me. |

Right now the Sandhills look pretty lush. Had good rains this spring, things look good, and only a few days of high temps.
Who you buying shorthair from?
Three weeks might put you in Rib Fest weekend in Lincoln. Good bbq. |

Chad and Julie Phillips.
Can't wait to get my pup and see the Sand Hills. My friend posted a picture of hills, green, green, green. Wish I was staying for the grouse opener. |
