I have some old shells still in full boxes, 2-9/16 long, in excellent condition. Does anyone have any idea of their worth? They are Federal Hi-Power and Winchester. I have 9 boxes total.
I own two Winchester Model 97's in 16 Ga. Both over 100 years old, both great shooters. I also have a Browning 5-A made in Belgium, not marked "sweet 16", and a nickel plated Stevens coach gun made in the 1950's.

Hello DJW1649
Welcome to the site and your first posting

I would say the 2 9/16th ammo is $25 and UP a box if the boxes
are in good condition

I was shooting trap a few years ago at Aurora Sportsman's Club. The guy shooting next to me was dressed in camo, hat, shirt, pants! His shotgun was a semi auto also in camo. He looked over and spotted my obviously old Model 97 and asked "is that safe to shoot?". My 24 breaks kicked his 19 breaks butt!

I get a kick out of people that say stuff like that- ""is it safe"" . The original 97's had all the safety later ones had except they had even heavier steel parts . The heavy barrel and that breach block made them about the safest guns ever made !.... now a novice getting used to the 1/2 cock and that bolt raking his thumb is another matter , but after the 1st time , you get it !
