when using a mec super sizer, do you deprrime before you resize or resize and then deprime or does it matter?

Mike
I size ALL the hulls that I intent to reload first and also inspect hulls again at this time. I then end up with a box of sized hulls.
In fact some days are sizing days and some are reloading days
So often I have a box of sized hulls waiting to be reloaded another day.
Does it matter? Probably not but it sure slows down the
reloading sequence to remove the hull from the reloader
once the process starts,

mcrewz,
I don't really think it matters whether you deprime before or after you use the MEC Supersizer. |

Six of one--1/2 dozen of the other.I don't think it matters---only a personal preference. |

I deprime and resize any hulls recently arrived at the loading room from unknown sources or unknown guns, especially those intended for my SxS guns. Once fired in my guns, I don't go to that operation. I typically reload for those guns on my MEC or similar progressive reloader machines.
Here's why I deprime and then resize. I have a lot of time on my hands. By doing the deprime before resizing I get a chance to inspect the hulls not twice, but three times. It gives me a feeling of being more exacting than I really am. I also think that when you resize with an empty primer pocket, the pressure of resizing gives a little squeeze to the primer pocket at the same time and you get a tighter primer fit.
There are likely folks that will opine, or agree, I have too much time on my hands, but . . . they're correct, I do. |
