Got my hands on a MEC 600JR, several powders (including volume in 800x) and primers, but only the SP-16 wad.

I have used RGL, Win/Cheddite, and FED hulls.

To keep the PSI low, while also avoiding migration issues by using 800x with the SP-16 here is what I was planning:

FED
1 1/8 oz #6
20.5 800x
209M CCI
SP16
1,190 FPS
8,100 PSI

Win & Herters - Cheds
1 1/8 oz #6
21.5 800x
209 Win
SP16
1,240 FPS
9,200 PSI

RGL
1 1/8 oz #6
19.0 800x
209 STS REM
SP16
1,177 FPS
9,700 PSI

If you see any concerns or have comments about these loads I would be interested to avoid hands on trouble shooting if it can be prevented! These loads will find themselves used primarily in my 1946 Win Mod 12 with poly-choke on the prowl for pheasants. The only other use will be found in my 2013 BPS.

FYI - I will be hand loading the powder and shot stations from the scale. Just worth it since I'm learning and only plan to load up about 50 to 75 shells at this time.

if your m12 is 29/16 chamber , the rgls will mostly work . the others probably won't ... if 23/4 chamber , no worries

I think your columns going to be too short for a good crimp on the federal hull load with 1 1/8 #6s.
I may be wrong, let me know if you wouldn't mind.

floppinT,

I will be happy to let you know.

16Davis,

It is a 2 3/4 model so no issues there.

I also have Herco, PB, Green Dot, and Steel powders but I am planning to use them with other wad options later on. My main reloads are going to be lead #6 & #7.5 in PSI under 10,000 (under 9,000 when possible) and #4 & #7 steel for use in BPS only.

I'm too cheap to shoot most non toxic shot. I can not justify using shells that cost more than $.50 each for any hunting other than sabots (hogs/deer 2 or 3 slugs a year) & turkey (1 or 2 shots a year).

Floppintom is right about the Fed hull load , I just cut my Fed hulls down to 2 9/16 when I use a load very close to the one you are planning on using . Or you could just use a filler and that would work just fine too .

I like your RGL load best based on the hull/wad compatibility.

Since none of your powder options are " ball" powder there wouldnt be a migration problem using the sp-16 in your cases

To the OP, those loads look just fine, they should fit and crimp well as I use those same components in Federal and Remington hulls and they fit perfect.
