Hi all
I have 5 kg of Impact Tungsten Matrix in size 6 which I would like to load into my 16 gauge using VP80 wads.

Does anyone have any data for tungsten 1oz loads at all?
Regards

Hello Graham

What gun will you be using for this TM load?

I see you also posed your question on Yahoo Group, GOOD !!!

Please insure that you slit your wads

Hi Skeetz
The 16g that I will be using this through is a little Baikal hammer gun with 2 3/4" chambers choked at mod and imp mod. It is not a valuable gun but it shoots very nicely and I am preferring it to my Mossberg 835 and Browning Gold for my waterfowl shooting as it is so much more pointable.
I took it out on the foreshore last week and pulled down a 17 pound canada geese that literally folded in the air Smile
I did see the 32g load using IMI SR powder but was hoping for something using Bluedot or Alliant Steel which is readily available in the UK.
We used to be able to get Tungsten Matrix loose over here but Kent stopped Gamebore selling the gear to reloaders and I was lucky enough to find a 5KG tub knocking around that an old guy still had and has given up reloading.

I have looked at bismuth, hevishot and itx recipes using bluedot and 32g of shot. Hevishot uses 27.5g bluedot and gives 1340 fps with 11.200 psi. Bismuth uses 28gr Bluedot with1300 fps and 11000 psi . Itx uses 24gr bluedot with 1180 fps and 11000 psi. All data is with VP80 wads. I think I will try 27.5gr Bluedot as a starting point and see how it burns and what speed I am getting

GREAT!
Please report back on your findings !

AND maybe you can set up a waterfall catch system to
recover the shot after testing Smile
