The pics I've seen of the new Citori 16's all show them to have the std Browning rubber butt pad. I was looking to get a 16 ga White Lightning a few years back and I seem to remember them having the black hard plastic Browning butt plate. Can someone who's actually seen the new Citori 16ga White Lightnings tell me which one they have?

Thank you much,

Sage1

I can tell you the difference between a Browning standard recoil pad and a slab of concrete--not much. Rolling Eyes

The pic in the catalog http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/category.asp?value=008B shows the pad but of course the 16s are not even listed.
The Lightning Feather 20/28 combo is nice looking-wouldn't that be sweet as a 16?! Rolling Eyes (oops-that is a Sissytori isn't it Embarassed )

I keep telling myself I really don't need a Lightning Feather 20/28 Combo. I also know if it was made in a 16/28 combo I would already own one. You're right 16GG, that would be sweet Exclamation Exclamation

Wish they sold the Lightning Feather in a 28 without having to buy the combo Rolling Eyes

I think they do...or did. Heck, I can't keep up with all the fiddling around with the line up. Half the stuff they offer makes about as much sense as a fish on a bicycle. Makes me swimmy headed...more than normally. Crying or Very sad

I bought one of the Citori Lightnings a few years ago and it has a hard butt plate. Last year I bought a Citori White Lightning 20 ga and it has a thin rubber butt plate. The catalog says that only the 12 ga comes with a thicker soft recoil pad.

I know of at least two 16 gauge Citoris that came new with recoil pads. My brother and I each have one. I believe they were a special run for Scheel's, an upper Midwest chain. They have a reasonably soft 5/8 inch black pad over a black spacer.

The guns are standard Citori's, without any Lightning or Feather marking. They do have silver receivers with a pheasant scene engraved on each side. They also have a round knob stock with a schnabel forearm, with a matte finish. Mine weighs in at 6 3/4 lbs with 28 inch barrels.

Both are MZ 131 series guns, our serial numbers are within 25 digits of each other, though we bought them a couple of years apart.

We both have really enjoyed them -- they are a joy for pheasants.

Enjoyed--past tense? You weren't swimmy headed enough to sell them now?
