Gentlemen:

I'm the "go to" guy in these parts when it comes to 16 gauge items. I'm amazed at all the unwanted materials that come my way - even 16 ga guns.

On Sunday morning while shooting skeet with my 16 ga sissytori, my primary FFL holder (yes, I have several FFLs I use - can't never have enough) walked up to me with the following statement:

"There is a case of 16 ga nobel sport 1 1/16 oz shells down at Scott AFB at the gun club. They are taking up space, would you like to buy them at $41 for the case." I set my gun in the rack and handed over the $41 and by some strange coincidence the shells were delivered Monday night and now sit in the basement. Wink Cool

Interesting loading 1 and 1/16 and HARD 8s. The dram eq. is 3 1/4. The hulls are blue and low brass

I will shoot these at trap (handicap) or quail in Kansas.

Who knows revdocdrew I may even share em in December if you show up....

and NO, Rural King has not honored the Dr. 16 Gauge rain check yet Crying or Very sad

I have a flat of those same Nobelsports in size 7.5. They have about the lowest brass I've ever seen on a 16 gauge hull. They look pretty neat, and they DO kick! I'm going to try some on grouse this year. They're pretty hot for targets unless you have a heavier gun.

Gentlemen:

I'm sure they do go boom and kick - however my 16 gauge go to trap gun is an 8.5 pound new model 1100 classic on the 12 gauge frame so I anticipate no worries if I shoot a round of these every so often Wink

Just got on the Boss' bathroom scale with and without 16 ga 1100 with 28 inch barrel. With gun 9 pounds more than without (notice I did not reveal the weights Wink ). Scale doesn't show tenths so I am guessing that it is over 8.5 and under 9 pounds.

Heavy, but works well for trap.

wwwwwoooooowwwwwwwww !!!!!!
i knew they were heavier, but, wwwwwooooowwww !!!!!!
my 870 with 26" barrel is sitting right at 7.0 lbs......anything heavier in a field gun better be a 12ga.
you are right though, for clays you shouldn't feel much recoil at all.
have fun with your rio's Wink
