I noticed uneven leg compression with 7/8 oz. and wondered if the gas seal ever got canted with that load. 3/4 oz. is perfect in it. Gil

I had a few problems with the wad getting canted and thus getting poor pressure and a blooper load with the DR16. I had to hand guide the wad insertion every time with my progressive press. Got tedious but still faster than a single stage press.
Think it had more to do with the hull mouth and wad insertion than the wad though.

I have loaded both 3/4 and 7/8 oz. loads in Federal and Cheddite hulls on a Sizemaster and a 9000G and have never had a DR16 wad cant.

I would think that there is a problem with a bad wad guide or a guide that is misadjusted, if you are having a DR16 seating problem......that wad is so long, you really have to try to mess it up.

I had problems with the DR16 popping thru the wad guide before it was in the hull mouth and catches on the hull mouth. You have to raise the ramming tube up. I marked mine for the DR16 and for the other wads I use. Others I think modified the wad guide to accommodate the DR16. The worst is the black Remington hulls they have a lot of memory in the hull mouth and tend to be different heights. I had A guy build me a smooth tapered steel bit to chuck up in my cordless drill. I have my son run it in the hull mouths before I put the hull on the press.
