Jack was a great friend and hunting companion for more than 35 years. Quail, doves, ducks, he hunted them all with gusto. Though frail the last couple of years ( he was an 11 year survivor of pancreatic cancer) he made it over to AZ for some dove hunting last season. He always stayed with me when he visited and when he died in early January at 85 years old he left me a few of his guns. One is this 16ga mdl 12 that his father bought new in 1929. It has a modified choke, solid rib and was upgraded with Winchester skeet wood. The finish is original with minimal wear to the bluing.
Thanks again Jack, I'll honor you and your father by using this gun opening day next dove season.

Sorry for your loss. The worst part of getting older is the friends that leave you.

Sorry for your loss. I can only hope that at that age I too have the drive desire and friends like you to still get out with.

Walt sorry to hear of your good friend passing. I had a similar thing happen two years ago, to a friend of over thirty years, and a good hunting buddy.

I am no spring chicken anymore, and most of my hunting days are behind me, but all of my wonderful friends that have passed are still 100% in my memory and heart. Crying or Very sad

Walt,
It's really tough losing a long time hunting partner. A few years back, after a long illness, one of my hunting partners of 30+ years passed. It was as though I had lost a little piece of myself, but I still have the memories. We scattered his ashes in his favorite haunts on opening day of grouse season.

Sorry for your loss,
Mike

Really good friends are hard to come by. Glad you had him while you did. Enjoy his guns as he did.

Sorry for your loss. It made me think of the hunts I had with my Dad who was my #1 hunting partner. Now that falls to my nephew to pick up the slack. We always end up talking about Papa when we hunt.
