I'm aware of all the admonitions about using tested/published loading date exactly- but I'm wondering about the loads in-between. For example a trusted loading manual will list a certain collection of components that includes a load of 14 grains of __ powder and yields 1150 fps @ 8K pressure. This they call the target load. the same manual will also have a load that they call such descriptive names as field or high velocity load. The components will all be the same except the powder is increased from 14 to 20 grains with changes in velocity and pressure to 1350 fps/ 11K.

I'm aware that changes in amount of powder does not produce a linear change in pressure, but would it be safe to conclude that a load of 15 to 19 grains would result in velocities and pressures in between the two extremes?
