Is there a list of serial numbers for the models with the suffix of "X" in the early 1948 group that will show which ones were really "sweet sixteen" before the scrolling on the side. Thanks

Nope! They're all mixed up. You'll have to check each receiver and barrel individually. Not till 1953 did the Sweet get its own S prefix. There was also a run of A prefix Sweet Sixteens in 1958. These didn't get their own serial number range but were mixed up with standard models that were prefixed with a T. And try not to confuse the 1958 A prefixed guns with the run of guns from 1953-54 that also got an A--Sweets and Standards both.

Confused? Welcome to the club!

Per Browning's original agreement with FN, they only supplied the serial numbers of guns produced and did not keep separate records of special models.
The only quick sure way to tell if a gun was manufactured as a sweet is the loading port mill cuts.
Sweet..two mill cuts each side...

Standard weight, no mill cuts.

Words of wisdom. I walked past many a stealth sweet sixteen until a wise owl enlightened me.
