Thanks to all that helped I am now part of the low pressure group and now I have a couple of questions about that data I was sent.

I received 2 spreadsheets and multiple pdfs of raw data taken on specific loads, has this specific load data been inputted into the spreadsheets already? On this forum there is already a very extensive and easy to use spreadsheet that is free to all at:

Dhttps://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0At1GjTxK0YbudHdQdEUtLWJwbVNyZVNudVF0MGk2WFE&gid=0

does this group have something similar? Is there a, single, large, updated, user friendly spreadsheet somewhere for us members.

Two different entities. The low pressure groups loads are not in the spreadsheets.
You had a couple of mistakes in the address. Fixed

Folks:

There appears to be confusion on how to reach the group. Simply send me a PM on via this web site and I will respond to you via PM. I do not send messages directly to email addresses. It may take me a few days to respond, so please be patient. Like many other enthusiasts I need to work to pursue my recreational passions. Messages sent during fall hunting seasons will take longer to respond to as I am normally not near a computer during the seasons. And, lastly, please remember that we are a volunteer group. Making and testing loads is not our job. We create new loads based on the membership's needs and requests. And we share the results with the group.

As to what constitutes "low pressures" in the 16 gauge, there is no definitive line. And, as with many things, there are varying opinions. What is appropriate for your gun depends on many factors, including the gun's construction, its condition, and the weather conditions under which it is used.

For example I shoot a number of European guns which are in proof. These guns regularly ingest shells with service pressures (PSI) in the 8000-10000 psi range. While these loads are fine in these "between the wars" guns, they may not be for older guns. Hence the reason we have recipes below 8000 psi. Just don't expect to find loads with lower pressures sometimes found in 12 and 10 gauge guns. As bore diameter decrease, pressures increase. Even with slower burn rate powders. And, as we've all experienced, there is a point of diminishing return. Pressures too low result in stuck wads and bloopers. Not what you want when you finally walk up that bird you've chased for the last 3 miles.

Enough for today. If you need information on the group, shoot me a PM via this web site and I will get back to you. Sincerely, Russ

I signed up a few years back. I honestly can't remember my user name or password. When trying to retrieve user name, it doesn't recognize my email. Even though I have received updates to that email account. Last update I have still was November 23, 2013:

"lorinronnow added 8 photos to the 16 Gauge Harrods LTD--Lorin Ronnow folder "

Any suggestions???

I printed most of the info that was availible before i moved, but that was 6-7 years ago. I'm sure there has been a lot going on since then... No more birds to shoot on the weekends and thought I might try to load some shells again sometime soon... Thanks!

Russ
Joined the group several years ago, but have since changed computers several time, and have no idea what my sign in used to be. Don't mind sending in another $20. How do I go about rejoining?

There hasn't been a post on this thread for almost a year. Is this still the only source of reloading information? I am just starting to reload 16 gauge, and I can't believe how difficult it is to find recipes, especially if you follow the maxim of only using published recipes.

If you're stuck with those powders for now, there is not much data for the kind of load you're seeking. Being slower powders, most loads are heavy shot weight and/or fast velocity. Powder selection sucks these days, but there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I've seen several types of pistol/shotgun powder at a few local shops here in Va in the last month.

We used to hunt game, now we hunt powder...
