I would not mind having a Stevens 311 one of these days. I have two Stevens already, both are 12 Ga. Pumps, but there is something I like about Stevens Shotguns. Then again my very first firearm was a Stevens/Savage Model 15-A .22 Rifle, so that might have planted the seed?

Here's my shot at posting pictures of the new 311a.

I put about 40 shells through it and cleaned it up after taking these pictures. So far so good. It has surprisingly nice (to me at least) wood on the forearm, shoots well, and locks up pretty solid. I am looking forward to dove hunting with it later this year. |

My 1st 16 ga was a 311-a. As you can see in my tag it was cut down to 24 inches by my uncle whom also prefers a 16 ga.
It's been assigned to my rabbit and preserve quail hunts. When you show up to a hunt with a sxs (at least in my circles) you get some funny looks.
Would not mind to some day have a 28 inch sxs choked skeet/light mod. |

Oh dang, I hope to find a good deal on a double barrel 16 Ga. someday soon!!! Something "shooter grade", I could see a Stevens 311 as a contender, but that is not written in stone. I also want an Iver-Johnson Champion as well..., I like the older singe shots as well. See what happens.

This wasn't my first , but my second 16 , my first double barrel though. Fox B model. Nothing fancy.......just a "dressed up 311". My son calls it the purple gun. IIRC I believe I paid around 100 or 125 for it. Its not the prettiest or the lightest , but its one of my favorites.
