Gentlemen:
After teaching until 10 pm last night I decided to take an hour this morning for three tasks in Alton IL - all to be completed at Labarge Harkness (Paul Fuchs gunsmith).
task #1 - drop off Fox BDE 20 ga with left barrel that won't fire on trigger pull
task #2 - have Paul determine chamber length of Ms. Sterlyworth
task #3 - review 16 ga French/Belgian guild gun that Paul had in shop
upshot of the trip
task #1 - left Fox
task #2 - found out Ms. Sterlyworth has 2.5 inch chambers
task #3 - bought the gun (left there to pick up when Fox finished)
About 2:30 phone rang in office - Paul, "trigger fixed"; cleaned off desk, grabbed an enormous pile of paperwork and went back to Alton - picked up Fox and guild gun (details on gun in next message)
Spent the evening loading 2 boxes of 2.5 inch shells to shoot Ms. Sterlyworth and Ms. Guild tomorrow. Quite a chore since I had to adjust Mec Jr to get it right and cut down some shells - thanks for recipes goes to low pressure group (came in handy - you should join)..... |
