Well got some good news and bad news about the Gran Lightning 16g on order. Bad news, the kid in charge of dealers website put the pic and description of the Gran Lightning, but listed the price of the Shot Show White Lightning 16g. So the price has now jumped way up to 2799. Yikes. But this is Canadian funds, so it's pretty much equivalent to what the U.S. Dealers are selling them for. The good news is that he only has 1 coming in and my trusty MasterCard has already ensured it comes to me. He called Browning Canada and they can't even get him a second one to sell. So, I'm paying more, but I'm just happy I'm getting it |

These are great guns. I have owned them in other gauges.
However I have seen lots of variance in wood figure. Some are stunning but some are not much above plain. |

I've seen the same thing. I've also had a few stocks crack at the wrist which exhibit too much figure in that area.
Many moons ago, I had a 20 gauge Grand Lightning with stunningly beautiful, highly figured wood end to end let go at the wrist. I was heart broken. Browning CS offered to replace the stock for me under the warranty.
Half a year later, the gun came back with a plain jane piece of walnut on it. Browning CS told me I'd have to live with it, because repairs come with no guarantee the replacement wood would match the figure of the original.
Heart broken once again, I traded the gun for a Grade III with real nice wood on it. However, I made sure the stock blank used to make the stock had been properly laid out with solid straight grained wood in the wrist. Lesson learned. |

Has anyone taken possession of the 2015 Gran Lightning yet? If so, where did you purchase it from? |

Spoke to Browning. These guns go to distributors in October. Bass Pro and Sheils will be getting a fair amount. Bass pro will not let you reserve, Sheils will with a full price deposit. Supposed to be a fair amount produced. |

Working with the local dealers in Austin and Houston but still don't have a good feel for the delivery. I'd love to have it for opening day of Dove Season (1 Sept) versus October. |

What is the present situation regarding Gran Lightning availability? Has any dealer got them ex stock?
As this is my first post to the forum, I will introduce myself: I am situate in the UK, am a driven game shooter, a fly fisher for Atlantic salmon and am retired. I shoot a Perazzi 20 ga, a Beretta SO4, a Miroku 3800 Skeet and a Browning Citori 16 ga which I have had for only this winter. I find it an absolute joy to shoot.
All best wishes
Richard |

I just bought a 2015 shot show special order Gran Lightning yesterday from a dealer. It was the only one he had listed but I'm sure there are more out there. |
