Something folks need to realize is how long it to takes to recover the investment of the injection mold. I designed my own short reed goose call system from scratch over 12 years ago. Those that hear it, want it. I looked into using injection molding to reproduce the unique tone boards. The "buy in" for an aluminum mold was $10k. Ouch! Then I learned that If I wanted a service life beyond 10-12,000 pieces (wasn't likely) that the price of a steel mold skyrocketed from there.
The DR-16 could be a moneymaker if the 16 ga. ever regained it's throne from the 20g a.; but until then ,nobody is getting rich selling 16ga. wads. |

Well since I started this thread I thought I would see if I could finish it. I just received my delivery from Recob's. Gamaliel's came in last week. I now have three cases on hand and should be set for a while. I won't wait until I get down to the last bag or two before I think about reordering next time. Worth the wait in my opinion.
There are a few closet 16 shooters in my local club that I have given some wads to maybe we see a few converts.
