My 8 year old grandson desperately wanted to hop aboard the JD mower and mow the lawn because he said he was big enough and could do it. One problem, he didn't weigh enough to hold the safety switch on the seat down which kept the mower running. One bag of #8 shot riding shotgun in the seat with him and he was all smiles. After the lawn we headed to the reloader and he took off the loaded shells and replaced them with empties. Life is good when your eight. |

My grandson at age 8 was unable to cock the hammer on my single shot 20GA and he was only able to shoot the gun after I cocked it for him. I told him that he would have to get a little stronger before he could shoot the gun and one way to do it was to squeeze a tennis ball to build up his hand strength. 4 months later he could cock the gun and since then, has been building up his body strength and is now 17 and very strong. |
