Or use the $8 shipping coupon for BPI, eases some of the pain. |

I expected real migration problems with Longshot and the WAA16 wad when used in the Cheddite hull, but so far my fears have been for naught. |

Ordered Cheddite hulls from Grafs, and SG16s from Ballistic Products, where shipping was only about $10 for two bags. Now to settle on a load/powder and buy a MEC bushing or two. |

Wait for shipping deals at BPI or Gamaliel for shipping larger orders of hulls/wads from them.
Wait for trips to Wisconsin to pick up powder/wads/primers at Recobs.
Wait for trips to South Dakota to pick items up hulls/powder/wads/primers at Precision Reloading.
Purchase primers and powder from local shops when price is reasonable or available (when your lucky both).
I feel sorry for guys that don't live within range of the major suppliers. |

when you consider sales tax and driving expenses the shipping fees dont hurt quite as much |

Well today it finally happened. Powder migration and a weak load. I held up the other shells toward the sun so I could see through the hull and sure enough, the powder had mostly leaked into the cushion section of the wad. However, my loads using "modified" wads have not allowed this.
Some of you remember the thread about solving the cup diameter problem with WAA16 wads. For those who don't, I flare the seal by rotating it against my thumbnail. The flared seal retains its shape afterward, permanently. The shells I have loaded with these have been trouble free with Longshot. |

I noticed some powder that had migrated past the z16 wads in some of my Cheddite reloads from last year. When assembling my latest supply, I searched my shop looking for some spherical object to flare out my z16 wad cups. I finally hit on a 3 or 4 second contact on my 150 watt shop light bulb to flare out the skirt for a snugger fit. Not a high volume solution ,but works for me. I shook the few samples I made up quite a bit .No migration .

I bought a flat of 16 gauge Remington shells to start my hull collection for reloading. I use the Claybuster wads to reload 1 oz shells, and they cycle my A-5s. I have used Herco, Green Dot, Unique, and am currently using Universal Clays.

what powder charge are you using with universal? what primer? thanks |
