You can modify a 2 ¾” factory load to 2 ½”, by trimming the lip off, and removing the crimped plastic. Insert a stiff overshot card over the shot then roll or bevel the hull over the card to hold it in place. I used Federal 16ga. 1 oz shells at 1165 fps, which are very plentiful around here. For a beveller I found a pipefitting ¼”mnpt by ½”fnpt which had a nice taper inside, this was placed in a 1/2” drill and used to fold the plastic hull over the overshot card. The result is a Federal 16ga. 1oz. load the fits in the 2 ½” chamber.
