There is an article in Shotgun Sports this month on 16 ga. loads. 16gaDavis there is a 1 3/8oz load with bluedot that is similar to the one you had tested. |

Hey Woodie , how goes it !!?? . Wished I'da had the big load in my gun during turkey - had an iffy shot for what I had - not enough horsepower !! Maybe word has traveled around some about the load . Most people would assume that it would knock their teeth out , but the shots I've taken have been manageable . If you can shoot then in a single shot , you can in anything !! Now , about that BIG BUCK !! |

guys , this is pretty much a verification of my load . A little less Blue Dot with a Modern wad . I know Byrdog has some loads with Steel I believe . Both lead and HS . I'm fiddling around a little bit - I do not personally like these big , thick , heavy wads . I want to find my few AA wads and see if that shot cup will fit the shot with the DR OP cup and a 1/4 filler . Winter is coming , need those projects !! (the EXCELL and the STEVENS are crawling back farther into the closet ) |

16gaDavis. I think I got some Bluedot left. I try some. Is Bluedot being discontinued? |

HB - haven't heard that it's being discount . Just happened to be the most likely of the old powders to fill the bill . Am able to actually stand shooting these out of single barrels which I didn't expect . I do expect my 870 will shoot the best when I get around to it . (probably much more of a youcher out of that piece !!) |
