I currently have a 12 ga MEC Steelmaster (i.e. Sizemaster) and am going to get a gauge conversion set to start loading up for my 2 1/2" 16 gauge.
I plan on using the press for resizing the brass, priming/de-priming, dropping powder and shot, and ramming wads. I will be roll crimping on a drill press.
My question for those that might have done this is, do I also need the short shell spacer plate (2 3/4" to 2 1/2")? From what I can tell from looking at one, they only cover the two crimping stations, and the ramming station.
I would imagine that I would have enough adjustment on the rammer tube to not need the extra height (spacer plate) for the short shells in the rammer position? I would love to hear from anyone that has made this conversion and has any suggestions that I might be overlooking. |

Flintfan you will have all you need with the conversion kit
The short kit in NOT needed if you plan to roll crimp
